Old Wisconsin - Sheboygan, WI

In 1942, Old Wisconsin, a small sausage company began its operations in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Impressed with Old Wisconsin’s high quality products, Carl Buddig and Co., a family-owned meat processing company, purchased the company in 1981. Today’s popularity of high-protein snacks led to growing demand for the company’s smoked snack sausage products, which are now the company’s largest product segment and led to the need for the company to expand.

An existing tenant of Becknell, Old Wisconsin wanted to consolidate their packaging operations into a sole warehouse distribution facility in Sheboygan. This in turn would allow room to install additional smokehouses and expand processing operations and production capacity in their existing facility nearby. Becknell’s existing relationship with Old Wisconsin, as well as knowledge of their operations and experience with their unique refrigeration requirements, allowed the Company to more effectively engineer a new facility and therefore provide Old Wisconsin with the most favorable lease rate.

This state-of-the-art, temperature controlled food grade packaging plant, located in Sheboygan Southside Industrial Park, provides excellent highway visibility and is in close proximity to their existing production facility.
